Welcome to the Cameron University Archives. Cameron was opened in 1908 as one of six agricultural high schools in the newly formed great State of Oklahoma and has a long and varied history. What started as a high school gradually evolved into a junior college known as Cameron State Agricultural College. Then, in 1966, it began offering baccalaureate degrees and was renamed Cameron College. The institution's name was changed again in 1971 to Cameron University. The university continued to grow, adding classes, majors, master's programs, and a campus in Duncan, Oklahoma. Take time to browse our digital archives to view and even relive the early years of Cameron University. And don't forget to check back often as we continue to grow and improve.
